For years each fall I was the victim of eczema. It appeared on one of my arms, at first mildly, but increasing in inflammation and irritation over a period of some months. I now realize that I anticipated its coming, in fact invited it, and should probably have been surprised had it not appeared.
My first real acquaintance with Christian Science, which I had known slightly for years, came one summer. Its logic absorbed me, and many hours daily were spent in its reading and study. It was late in the following November that I one evening realized this condition had not made its annual appearance. The reason therefor was simple. My mind had been so filled with truth, in consequence of my reading, that there had been no room for its entrance.
I called the fact to the attention of my wife, who rejoiced in the healing with me. Then, being comparatively new in the study, I made the mistake many others have made of dwelling in thought upon what the former experience had been. I spoke at some length of where it had made its appearance, how it had spread, and, in short, painted a word picture which did full justice to all its distressing features. In only a few moments it was there again, with all the violence which had previously marked several weeks of its progress!
