No one need be deprived of the stimulus and joy of an eternal purpose in everyday life. The genuine and only laws of creation are spiritual laws, established and perpetuated by one perfect creative Principle, named God. To discern these beneficent laws, adopt and prove them in unassailable health, purity of heart, loving-kindness, abundance, joyousness, is the privilege of every man, woman, and child today.
Incensed by such an assertion the determined materialist throws down this challenge in the arena of argument: "What about the hazards of daily life—disease, accident, ruptured relationships, grief, poverty, decrepitude? I maintain that these and a host of other afflictions are general and inevitable."
Another type, equally tired of reverses, yet timidly hoping for better things, asks: "Is there a way out of human misery and mystery? If so, what is it, and how can I find it?"
