From the September 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, July 22, 1944]

The Christian Science Board of Directors announces that Arthur W. Eckman, C. S., of Brookline, Massachusetts, who, under the provisions of Article XXXIII, Section 1, of the Manual of The Mother Church, has served for the past two years as Manager of Committees on Publication, has resigned from that office to accept appointment as General Counsel for The Mother Church and its allied activities. Mr. Eckman's appointment as General Counsel fills the vacancy caused by the retirement of Torrance Parker, C.S., who for thirteen and a half years gave faithful and valued service in that capacity. Mr. Eckman took over his duties as General Counsel on June 26.

John H. Hoagland, C. S., formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, has been elected Manager of Committees on Publication to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Eckman's resignation, and he assumed his duties in that office on June 26.
