Testimonies of Healing

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,...

From the November 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14:26).

When Christian Science found me I was very confused about God. The belief that He was a God of wrath frightened and bewildered me, and I gradually fell into a nervous, depressed state of thought. As a member of an orthodox church, I prayed earnestly that I might learn to know the true nature of God. The words from Isaiah (45:5), "I am the Lord and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me," were a continual source of comfort during that time.

One day a member of my family told me she was investigating Christian Science. She said, "They teach that God is Love and that He does not know evil or wrong of any kind."
