From the November 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRISTIAN SCIENTISTS and others throughout the Field have been most generous in their contributions to the funds established to meet the expenses connected with the wartime activities of our movement. This generosity has enabled The Mother Church to provide material as well as spiritual comfort to thousands of men and women in the armed forces. It has made it possible to send food and clothing to civilians in the countries of Europe suffering from the ravages of war.

We are glad to announce to the Field that the amount now on hand in The Mother Church Wartime Fund is sufficient to care for all the present needs in the several activities being carried on at this time. Should it appear that further contributions will be required to bring the work to a successful conclusion, announcement will be made to that effect in our periodicals.

We are sincerely grateful for the continuous support of this work throughout the past several years, and, in expressing our thanks to the Field, we include those of the thousands of beneficiaries as shown in the many letters of appreciation which have been received.
