GOOD IS NATURAL

From the March 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Good is the natural state of man made in God's likeness. The realization of this fact brings harmony into human experience. Success in every righteous endeavor is natural and normal, and we should expect harmony as the legitimate fruit of righteousness. To doubt the felicitous results of righteous effort is as foolish as to expect no flowers in a wisely planted and well-cared-for garden.

The Word of God, prayerfully and understandingly affirmed, always bears fruit in the healing of mind and body. Unwavering faith in this fact is essential to Christian healing. Said the writer of the epistle to the Hebrews, "Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, writes (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 233), "The utterance of truth is designed to rebuke and destroy error." Since this statement is true, we should confidently expect specific and readily recognized healings at every Christian Science church service, at every Christian Science lecture, and as the result of thoughtful reading of the Bible, Mrs. Eddy's writings, and the authorized Christian Science periodicals.
