Because of the great good Christian Science has brought into my life during the past twenty-eight years, I wish to express my deep gratitude for it and share my experience with others.
I was suffering from a nervous breakdown due to anxiety over the illness of my mother and to my inability, as a result, to finish my college education. All I had heard of Christian Science was that it healed. I found myself desiring to investigate it, and after talking with a friend who was somewhat interested, I sought out a Reading Room and purchased the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. At first I did not grasp the truths it contained, but with persistent study the understanding began to come. So complete was my healing that I was able to assume the entire care of my mother and our home. I gained much help from the fact, learned through Christian Science, that one cannot suffer for doing good or expressing love. Later, when my mother passed on, I was able to rise above the sense of grief, separation, and loss.
Since that time I have relied entirely upon Christian Science to solve my problems. Some have been worked out alone with God, and others with the aid of practitioners. I have witnessed healings of asthma, hemorrhage, growths, heart trouble, rheumatism, a sprained ankle, extreme shyness, and many other troubles. I have been protected in two automobile accidents and have had lost articles restored. Grateful as I am for all these demonstrations, it is the spiritual progress that each has brought that is the greater blessing.
