In a spirit of humble gratitude this testimony of God's protection and love is submitted.
While I was in combat on a Pacific island, I saw several incidents which convinced me that God, divine Love, does indeed fully protect and preserve His children. Protective work was being done by a practitioner and other loved ones at home, and a great trust in God's protection resulted.
One such incident occurred when our infantry company was ordered to seize a certain high point of ground which, because of its strategic nature, was expected to be heavily defended. There was little opportunity for the men to take cover while scrambling up the sharp slope, and so they were fully exposed to any enemy gunfire that might have been directed at them. However, the ascent was made and a bivouac area established without a single shot having been fired. Shortly afterwards, a group of the men detected a camouflaged cave in which was an enemy gun position, apparently set up for the purpose of defending the ground that had just been taken. In the cave were more than a score of enemy soldiers with machine guns and ammunition. No explanation was ever given why this equipment had not been employed to annihilate the men when they were so vulnerable.
