"I WILL HASTEN MY WORD"

From the May 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"What seest thou, Jeremiah?"
"I see a branch of an almond tree."
Far before the other trees
The almond blossoms.

Swiftly moves the Word of God,
Ever among us,
Eternal Truth precluding chance,
Infinite Love dismissing hate,
Immortal Life dissolving death,
Instant good in its own light,
In its own peace, in its own power,
Forever dwelling.
Swiftly it moves among us.

First to awake, the almond tree,
From winter's sleep.
All before the others bloom
It blossoms.
"Thou hast well seen, Jeremiah.
I will hasten my word to perform it."
