All Now Is Mine

From the February 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I Prayed that You would show the way,
That I might walk Your paths each day.
I asked for courage, wisdom, love,
And patience too. Lift me above
The lower plane of mortal thought,
I asked of You.

Your answer brought
A swift awakening to see
The good You had bestowed on me.
Truth teaches all is freely given;
Your reign on earth is as in heaven.
All now is mine!

And thus I see
That my whole prayer demands of me
Discernment of the way divine
To use the gifts already mine;
To shake the sleep of stupid sense,
Secure in Christ my sure defense;
To learn that I must never be
Passive but always active, free;
And to express, such is Your plan,
The dominion You have given man.
