"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Ps. 107:8). This Bible passage has been a source of inspiration to me many times since I began the study of Christian Science many years ago. Words are far too inadequate to express my gratitude for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has given us the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
While I did not become interested in Science for a physical healing, I was healed of a mental depression which had been tormenting me for years, just through my attempt to find out what Science and Health really had in it. This healing made me extremely happy, and I knew that I had found a religion which I could use in my own home as well as in church. My religious training had been very limited and narrow, but I was grateful that I loved the Bible, even though I understood very little of it. I wanted to teach my son about God, and I was very happy when I found that I could send him to a Christian Science Sunday School, which he had the privilege of attending for eight and a half years.
There have been so many healings since I began this study that I could not mention all of them. When my husband passed on several years ago, I had no sense of loss or separation. I was not trained for any particular work, but have been led into work which has been a joy for me and those I serve. I was healed of chronic sore throat of many years' standing through the reading of the textbook; I do not even remember when the healing took place, but I suddenly realized that I had not had a sore throat for several winters. I was also healed of a broken ankle, the bone being perfectly set before the doctor came to put it in a cast.
