Since the appearance of my first testimony in the Christian Science Sentinel of January 1, 1938, I have had many further proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science.
About nine years ago I noted an article in The Christian Science Monitor about a woman attorney with whom I had had some contact in a position I had held a few years before. I knew she was an earnest student of Christian Science. I also knew she was an extremely busy person and might miss seeing the article. The thought came that it would be a nice gesture to clip the item and mail it to her. I put the Monitor aside for that purpose.
A few days later when I was gathering up my Christian Science literature, an opposite idea presented itself: "Why bother to send her the article? You knew her slightly—she may misunderstand your motive." However, I recognized this as a negative thought and saw clearly that my first impulse had been inspired by a willingness to be of service. So I immediately mailed the clipping with a short note.
