I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it is doing for mankind. I am especially grateful for an experience I had in the healing of diabetes. The condition began in my right foot. I called a practitioner and had treatment, but it grew worse. Finally it became necessary to move me to a nursing home maintained for students of Christian Science, as I was in need of constant care.
When the woman in charge came into the room and looked at me, I sensed that she thought the condition serious. I thought, "Only good can come, for God is the Lawgiver and can heal all our diseases."
While I did not suffer greatly, to human sense a serious picture was presented. However, through the prayers of the faithful practitioner, the affected area was healed. It was necessary for me to remain in the home for some time, and I am very grateful for the nurses who waited on me and for their faithfulness to their work. Mrs. Eddy says on page 395 of Science and Health, "The nurse should be cheerful, orderly, punctual, patient, full of faith,—receptive to Truth and Love." These qualities were surely expressed by the nurses who ministered to me.
