It is always a privilege to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science, which has been demonstrated many times in our home.
A dislocated bone which protruded from the side of our daughter's foot was quickly and perfectly adjusted without surgical aid. Another daughter was healed of whooping cough and pneumonia and of an unsightly growth on her hand. My husband was healed of astigmatism, pronounced incurable by an outstanding oculist, who said glasses would always have to be worn for this condition. The glasses, which had been worn for many years, were laid aside and there was no further need of them. Another member of the family was healed of a complication of three diseases pronounced incurable. Two weeks after turning to Christian Science, she was completely healed of all three diseases and able to take a long journey by train.
All these healings were brought about through the reading of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and have proved to be complete and permanent. When these healings occurred, we had not begun to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, we did not know how to give a Christian Science treatment or what constituted a treatment; but through the reading of the textbook alone these convincing proofs were given us that. as Mrs. Eddy assures us on page 449 of Science and Health, "a grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing." I mention this for the encouragement of beginners in the study of Christian Science.
