City of Refuge

From the November 1951 issue of The Christian Science Journal

John the beloved saw a city,
A state of consciousness so pure
That imperfection finds no entrance,
And only peace and love endure.

This city needs no watch, no shelter,
For enemy from sky or sea
Can find no weapon that can harm it;
Its walls shall stand eternally.

And all that seek this heavenly refuge
Shall see infinite Love restore
The treasures that they thought had vanished;
And none shall sorrow any more.
