How illuminating are these words of Mary Baker Eddy's in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 507): "Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source." All that is true is a creation of God and is appearing, becoming manifest, because God forever manifests Himself in His creation. What is called a demonstration is therefore not something that we make, or cause to appear, through mental work; it is much more. It is God's creation appearing; it is evidence of God manifesting Himself in and through His expression. It is that which is ever apparent to spiritual sense, to the consciousness illumined by faith and understanding. This glorious perception in Christian Science that God is working with us, is revealing Himself and His infinite manifestations, is indeed Immanuel, or "God with us."
In the quotation from Science and Health with which this article begins, Mrs. Eddy says that creation "must ever continue to appear." Therefore as Christian Scientists we should not dread the future or have any misgivings about it. Instead, we should face it with trust in Truth, with courage, hope, faith, and love, knowing, as we do, that the only thing that can really happen is the appearing of God's creation.
What are called time and material space are beliefs, existing only in so-called mortal mind. It does not require years for God's ideas to appear; it only requires vision, for His ideas are here and now the only facts of creation. It always is now in God's kingdom, and it always is here too. God's ideas are not limited to a certain spot or place; they always are where God's child is. Our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, said to his disciples (John 4:35), "Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."
