I wish to express my gratitude for an ever-increasing understanding of Christian Science and for all the blessings that have come to me through its study. I am especially grateful to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her consecrated work in presenting this absolute Science to the world.
I have known no religion other than Christian Science and rejoice to say that because of God's ever-loving protection I have suffered no serious physical ailments. Minor complaints that have attempted to manifest themselves have been healed quickly by the knowledge of the truth of man's real being, as taught in Christian Science.
During active service in the Second World War I received wonderful protection. Under the most trying campaign conditions, the great truths contained in the ninety-first Psalm and also in "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, were my comforter. The only injury I received was a slight scratch when a large house, in the basement of which I was sheltering, was completely demolished by a bomb.
