In 1913 I met a friend whom I had not seen for some years. I discovered that she had become a student of Christian Science, and at her invitation I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. From childhood I had been addicted to cathartics, and when I heard a testimony given relative to a healing of the need for taking this means of help, and the healing had proved permanent, I was impressed and decided that such an experience could also be mine. I asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. Shortly afterwards my healing came, and at the same time an erroneous mental attitude was corrected.
Since then other healings have resulted when I have applied the truth as taught in Christian Science. At one time I was healed within a few days of inflammatory rheumatism in the knee and leg. Our family of three have relied entirely upon Christian Science whenever error, in whatever form, has manifested itself. Shock at the sudden and unexpected passing on of a dear one was overcome through the earnest study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for that week, the subject of which was "Life."
I also wish to testify to a healing my daughter experienced a few years ago of inflammation of the hip joint. She had attended the Christian Science Sunday School since the age of four and naturally turned at this time to Christian Science for healing. I am very thankful for the help given by a consecrated practitioner during this severe test. Faithful study and great patience were needed, and we were much helped by the assurance in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 494) that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." The healing finally came and was complete.
