I am unspeakably grateful to God that He made Himself known to men through Christ Jesus and grateful also to our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has so ably restored the healing works of the Master by making clear to our age the Science of his teaching.
More than twenty years ago I was healed in a few weeks' time of tuberculosis through reading the Christian Science Sentinel when I had given up all hope of recovery. I read the Sentinel only because what I read appealed to me, but with no thought of healing. Later, when my home had been destroyed by fire and my husband had passed on as the result of an automobile accident, I turned wholeheartedly to God.
I began the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly as the first activity of the day and spent every possible moment reading Mrs. Eddy's writings and other authorized Christian Science literature. Church services were a constant joy to me, and I am grateful that my young son had the privilege of attending the Sunday School, where he learned precious truths that can never be taken from him.
