Our young son, who had been under the care of a pediatrician for about three weeks for what was diagnosed as mastoiditis, had grown steadily worse. The doctor had been called at family insistence, and when the child grew no better, they consented to Christian Science treatment. The help of a practitioner was sought, and after the pediatrician had been dismissed from the case, Christian Science treatment was applied.
Even in my distress I noticed the difference between the thought of the pediatrician, who was afraid and frankly admitted it, and that of the practitioner, who not only was unafraid, but quieted my anxiety with the calm assurance that I had nothing to fear because God had created all, and it was good. I saw that I could trust Him to maintain and support the child's life. All pain ceased, and the boy was free almost immediately. Within twenty minutes he was out for a walk with me, and later he ate heartily. He has continued a free and happy boy, and we are most grateful.
