From the January 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I should like to thank God, who led me to Christian Science many years ago. I was not looking for release from sickness, but wanted to know what God is and why we had to wait for the experience called death before we could be truly happy—as I believed we did.

As I began to read and study the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I began to understand God as Life, and my questions were answered.

Christian Science was a very present help to me during World War II, at the time my husband and I were in dire circumstances. When my husband passed on in 1947, I found this Science indeed to be the Comforter, and it has met my every human need. I am grateful for the practitioners who have always been ready to help me.
