Wednesday Evening Meeting

From the January 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Father, Thou art so near to me tonight:
Here in this quiet room I find true peace.
Here I can lay aside the cares that vex me,
Here find from every sorrow sure release.

Thy loving Word will chide me if I wander,
And give my weary heart its promised rest.
Here are unfolded all Life's deeper meanings;
Here do I gain fresh courage for each test.

Here, to each one, the priceless boon is given
To raise his voice in gratitude to Thee.
Dear God, may I be faithful in Thy praises;
Thou seest both me and all these dear ones free.
