Many years ago while I was teaching in a small town, Christian Science was introduced to me by a loving couple who had recently taken up its study. There were no churches of this denomination nearby, so they invited several friends to meet in their home to help in holding Christian Science services. So much love and joy were expressed that I realized this was the true religion.
All my life I had attended orthodox Sunday Schools and churches, but had come to the place where I went more from a sense of duty than from a desire to go. Now I joyously looked forward to each meeting, and in the days between them I put into practice many of the helpful truths learned. Ever since I began the study of the textbook, Science and Health by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, much happiness has been brought into my life.
We have had various healings in our family, but the most outstanding ones were of goiter, heart trouble, tonsillitis, and injuries received when one member was thrown from a horse. Our two children were healed of so-called children's diseases and grew to manhood and womanhood without the aid of material remedies.
