With a heart full of gratitude to God for Christian Science and what it has done for me and my family during the past thirty-five years, I wish to add my testimony.
When everything seemed dark to me and the way to health very uncertain a neighbor, whom I had learned to love, came to see me and lovingly asked me if I would like to try Christian Science. I told her that I would, for I was in great distress. She lent me a copy of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mary Baker Eddy to read and said she would help me. I prayed to God as never before to be shown the way. Suddenly all my prejudices and fears fell away, and I stepped forth free. I was healed of valvular heart disease, chronic appendicitis, and astigmatism. Many faults of character also yielded to the power of Truth, as I studied the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Since then Christian Science has been my only physician, and it has never failed me.
I have been healed of inflammatory rheumatism, sprained ankle, broken ribs, and many minor problems too numerous to mention. About two years ago I was suffering from a pain in my left breast and under my left shoulder blade. As the trouble did not yield through my own study and understanding, I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner; this was lovingly given. A hemorrhage was experienced, but I was not frightened at the picture, for I knew that I needed to do more consecrated work. I remembered the incident related in the fifth chapter of Mark of the woman "which had an issue of blood twelve years" and which, "when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague."
