I am grateful that for almost thirty years I have continued to gain an increasing understanding of Christian Science and that I am learning more and more to depend on Science for the solution of all my problems.
When I lived with my family on a farm some years ago I had many proofs that divine Love cares for the birds and animals. We never resorted to the service of a veterinarian for the horses or to any kind of medicine for any of the animals.
We had an outstanding proof of the powerlessness of material laws to interfere with right activity. On the farm one of the wells which was equipped with a chain pump had an unusually high water level one winter so that the water froze in the pump during a spell of extremely cold weather, leaving us without water for the stock unless it was carried from another source of supply some distance away. I was sure that this difficulty could be met in Christian Science, so one evening I studied Science and Health with this problem in mind. The next morning, to the amazement of the man who was caring for the stock, the water flowed freely, and we had no more trouble, although the weather remained extremely cold for some time.
