I wish to express my deepest gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 369), "The prophylactic and therapeutic (that is. the preventive and curative) arts belong emphatically to Christian Science, as would be readily seen, if psychology, or the Science of Spirit, God, was understood." The therapeutic art of Christian Science is perhaps more frequently referred to than the prophylactic art. I passed many years in good health and undisturbed happiness after Christian Science came to me, proving the preventive art of this Science.
A few years ago, however, suffered from hay fever in a continuous and severe form. Through the help of friends, for whom I am very grateful to God, I was led to a more consecrated study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and to the daily reading of all the periodicals. I soon realized that the Christ-consciousness, the power of God, heals the false beliefs of mortal mind that result in discordant material conditions. I was completely healed, and since that time there has been much fruitage of joy, harmony, abundance, and freedom from false responsibility. The hay fever has never returned.
Further fruitage has occurred in our finding our right place. From time to time we tried to find a house in a different community, seeking a better school environment for our children; but we were not able to find a satisfactory place. A sentence from a copy of the Journal brought instantaneous transformation in our thinking on the matter. It pointed out that man is never in a material place or condition but that he includes by reflection the right idea about place or condition. This thought was very helpful in our experience, and soon a satisfactory condition developed which made it unnecessary for us to move.
