On reading an article in the Journal I realized that procrastination was the cause of my not sending for publication a testimony of gratitude for all the good I have received from the study of Christian Science. Through this Science I have experienced many physical healings, including that of a severe case of astigmatism. The sentence of the optician, that I would need spectacles continually, was completely annulled by the understanding of divine law. Since that time, twenty years ago, I have worn no spectacles, and my sight has been normal.
Through my progress in the truth other healings have taken place without special work. False appetites have been overcome, a tendency to take cold has been destroyed, reliance on persons has been discontinued, and inharmony in the home has given way to harmony. Unpleasant traits of character are gradually being eliminated by the application of Christian Science to everyday living, and this purification is bringing great joy.
I am extremely grateful for a healing of an abscess in the ear. This healing, which came through the help of a consecrated practitioner, taught me a great deal. I now realize that real devotion to the study and demonstration of Christian Science, as well as to the activities of our movement, brings untold happiness, peace, and satisfaction. The outstanding experience of my life has been class instruction, and I can never cease to be grateful to God for this milestone in my progress. To our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfed labors for mankind, I am deeply grateful.—Swindon, Wiltshire, England.
