It is with an earnest desire to share my blessings, brought about through the application of Christian Science, that I write this testimony. For many years I have had a great desire to do this, but I thought I did not have any important healings to relate. Now I realize more each day that it is the protective and loving ministrations of Christian Science which have kept me and mine well, and I wish to express my deep gratitude for this protection.
Before coming into Christian Science I had between twenty and thirty operations for small growths. These growths were very uncomfortable and were a constant source of anxiety to my parents, as operations were required three or four times a year. Since taking up the study of this Science over twenty years ago I have had no recurrence of the growths. I gained my freedom from them by changing my standpoint and by knowing the operation of divine Love's protecting care. From girlhood and through my early years of marriage I was subject to very heavy colds in the head which caused me to stay in bed for two or three days at a time, but since I have assimilated a deeper understanding of Christian Science these colds have ceased.
Some years ago one of our children awakened in the night apparently very ill. Although we did not know what the condition was, it appeared extremely frightening to us. My husband and I worked as we are taught in Christian Science. By early morning the fear had left our thoughts, and the child had fallen asleep. During the morning he awakened perfectly well. The following evening I asked my husband what had come to him to handle in his work, and he said that the thought of death had seemed very strong. I too had worked for over three hours to allay the fear of death. This experience was proof of Love's protecting power.
