I have felt for some time a great desire to acknowledge with joy and gratitude through the channel afforded by our periodicals all that I owe to Christian Science. When I was quite a small girl my mother took up the study of Christian Science, and I was enrolled as a pupil in the Sunday School. Since that time the truth has been a daily influence for good in my life. I am sincerely grateful for the consecrated teaching which I received in the Sunday School, for it equipped me to face with spiritual strength and courage problems which later had to be met, recognized as untrue mental pictures, and thus destroyed.
The physical healings which I have experienced o.r witnessed in our family have been too numerous to mention in detail. They include the healing of whooping cough, insomnia, heart disease, bladder trouble, and sties. These healings came about more than twenty years ago through the application of the teachings of Christian Science, and they have been permanent.
Some time ago I became ill with a serious throat condition. A practitioner was asked to give treatment, and I am grateful for the compassionate help I received. The difficulty took several days to yield to the truth, b.ut during that time I was led to look deep into my consciousness, where I found latent thoughts quite contrary to what I knew should be mine as a student of Christian Science. This discovery aroused me to resist various forms of animal magnetism and to take steps towards a more spiritual way of daily living. I received my healing, and since that experience I have faithfully sought a greater understanding of God.
