All of us are amazed at the subtle passage of time. We often hear the remark, "It seems only yesterday that such-and-such happened," and then find that many months or years have passed since the particular event took place. Vacations pass too quickly. A favorite radio or television program is finished too soon. Children grow up too fast. These are typical concepts that try to limit our happiness by associating our joy with the material concept of limited time.
Throughout the Bible we find references to the subject of day, from the first chapter of Genesis, where we read that God created day, to Revelation, where John shows us that in the true universe we shall find no night.
In Genesis we read (1:3-5): "God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day." The relationship between the concept of light —day—and goodness is found throughout the Bible. If we are to manifest God's goodness, we must live in the light of His one infinite day.
