COMPLETENESS AND DEDICATION

From the April 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the spiritual record of creation we find this summary of completeness (Gen. 2:1): "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." Completeness is the characteristic of every divine idea. It characterizes the revelation of Christian Science, and it must characterize every Christian Science demonstration.

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, lovingly demands of us this completeness of demonstration. In the Manual of The Mother Church she writes (Art. XXX, Sect. 7), "I recommend that each member of this Church shall strive to demonstrate by his or her practice, that Christian Science heals the sick quickly and wholly, thus proving this Science to be all that we claim for it." She has made the provision that Churches of Christ, Scientist, may be dedicated only when free from debt. On what basis can we confidently respond to this demand for a complete demonstration? On the basis of a complete revelation.

Bible prophecy is fulfilled. The fatherhood of God has been revealed through Christ Jesus, and the motherhood of God has been revealed through Christian Science. The leaven of Truth is leavening the three measures of meal—science, theology, and medicine. The Comforter, promised by Christ Jesus, has come in the revelation of Christian Science. As Mrs. Eddy reminds us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 174): "Truth is revealed. It needs only to be practised."
