My heart overflows with gratitude to God, as well as to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for the manifold blessings bestowed upon me and mine for many years through the healing and regenerating ministry of Christian Science. The blessing of Christian Science came to me at a very early age when my mother, a pioneer student, enrolled me in the Christian Science Sunday School. The lessons I learned from a consecrated Scientist have stood me in good stead throughout the years.
Christian Science has met every need in our home through the years. Our two children have enjoyed the wonderful experience of going through the Christian Science Sunday School, and my wife and I have experienced the joy and fruition of activity in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. We have received a number of wonderful physical healings through radical reliance on the truth, among them those of the various ailments often associated with growing children, a badly sprained ankle, a severed artery in the wrist, stomach ulcers, and influenza.
Among the physical healings for which I am most grateful was one of a nervous breakdown resulting from several bitter experiences in business. Because of strained human relationships and other inharmonious conditions over which I felt that I had no control, I felt justified in resigning from a responsible position to get away from this very unhappy situation. Later I was to learn that all I needed to get away from was my erroneous thinking about it and that I should listen for God's voice before taking any human footsteps.
