To promote the joyous millennial state of all mankind living together in harmony as brothers requires a lifting rather than a leveling of human thought, for this ultimate can be achieved only when all men acknowledge one Father, God, as supreme, governing all impartially. Mary Baker Eddy, the inspired Leader of the Christian Science movement, through her devotion to Truth and her love for all mankind was enabled to envision this state. In "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 12) she says, "We should measure our love for God by our love for man; and our sense of Science will be measured by our obedience to God,—fulfilling the law of Love, doing good to all; imparting, so far as we reflect them, Truth, Life, and Love to all within the radius of our atmosphere of thought."
What a noble example of patience we see in her willingness to let the millennium be reached in God's own way, as she obediently imparted selfless love, yet never forced the truth upon those who were not ready to accept it. She reached the receptive heart, knowing that the Love which heals and regenerates also guides and sustains the individual in his upward journey from sense to Soul.
A so-called power which seems to effect a cure but which does not leave an individual spiritually better is not Christian Science. When the healing Christ is admitted to the human heart, Truth and Love are enshrined. As consciousness reflects divine Love, which includes all reality, the heart finds that there is room for the whole world in it. This increasing comprehension of Love as universal and all-inclusive heals, saves, and regenerates.
