My testimony to God's all-loving and sustaining care is written in gratitude that I have found in Christian Science the way of light and love. Only after I had passed through great tribulations and was living in a foreign country did I accept this Science, and in doing so I found the solution to many problems.
That was more than twenty years ago. In the meantime a period of happy activity has unfolded for me, bringing with it many blessings. Digestive difficulties from which I had suffered for many years disappeared unnoticed. A serious case of throat inflammation was overcome when I realized the mistake of entertaining resentment toward one whose actions had caused me to feel hurt.
Thanks to the faithful work of a practitioner, complications which occurred at the period of so-called change of life were overcome. During this period there was no hindrance to my professional and church activities, and there has been no return of the trouble.
On one occasion I fell from the platform of a subway station to the rails. Hearing my cry for help, some people helped me back to the platform just before a train pulled into the station. Through the help of a practitioner physical suffering was prevented.
Another fall occurred early one morning on the steps of my house. I struggled to keep from fainting, and it was only with difficulty that I could get to my feet. But I declared audibly the truth in "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I was able to reach my room, take a short nap, and then unhampered perform my duty as organist at the Sunday service of our newly organized Christian Science Society. For this proof of God's care I am very grateful.
Even when I was quite young, I hoped that it would be possible for me to take help, comfort, and spiritual enlightenment into the lives of my fellow men. Thanks to Christian Science this wish has been fulfilled beyond all expectations, and for this I thank our heavenly Father. The teachings of Christ Jesus, made clear by our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, have shown me the way to be a blessing to others.
I had always longed for a string of beautiful, real pearls. This I have acquired in the pure truths of Christian Science, with which no material piece of jewelry, however costly, can be compared; for each truth represents a pearl of great price. I am especially grateful for the fact that in Christian Science I have found loyal friends, whose comforting and sustaining affection has surrounded me in times of loneliness. Beautifully true are the words of the Bible (Ps. 68:5), "A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God."
It has been my privilege to serve our branch church in various capacities, and this service has brought me many blessings. This work in the vineyard of the Lord and the study of the authorized Christian Science literature make me marvel ever anew at the infinitude of God's kingdom and the abundance of spiritual opportunities to bless all mankind.
For all of the experiences I have had, and particularly for the unforgettable privilege of class instruction, I am grateful to God from the bottom of my heart. I am striving to prove this gratitude more and more by obeying the words of the Bible (James 1: 22), "Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only."— Bernal, Argentina, South America.
