For more than twenty years Christian Science has been the way of life in our family. Our children attended the Sunday School from the time they could talk; our physician has been God; and our medicine has been Mind. The experience which made us turn definitely to Christian Science and take our stand was as follows.
When our second daughter was a baby she had pneumonia. After she recovered we were told by the doctor that she would not survive if she ever had pneumonia again. The next winter she had pneumonia for the second time. We were afraid to call a doctor because of the medical prediction. So we called a Christian Science practitioner.
Our little girl was in a coma for a whole day. But the practitioner lovingly assured us that God was caring for her. I remember that the healing came suddenly after the practitioner told me to stop looking at the baby and to look to God, who was the child's real Father-Mother. The next day the little girl was outdoors playing, and we were singing with joy. From then on we never had anything in our home but Christian Science. We joined The Mother Church and a branch church, in which we became happy and active members.
