About fifteen years ago I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy for the first time. My main reason for reading it was curiosity, because I had seen a great change in a member of my family from the time that she had started the study of this textbook. I knew she had been healed of physical troubles and had become a much happier person, and I wanted to know the reason.
The logic of the statements in the book struck me at the first reading, but many of them were so astounding that I was more curious than ever; so I read the book through a second time immediately. By that time I realized that it answered the questions about life which had always puzzled me, and I knew its teachings were what I wanted. Since then I have used nothing but Christian Science for the solution of problems that have arisen.
I have had many healings; some came quickly, while others required considerable study and a more complete casting off of material beliefs. On one occasion I became suddenly ill late one afternoon at my place of business. It was closing time, and I sat down, unable to walk the distance to a telephone and call a practitioner. I went to work in earnest, because I felt that I was on the verge of losing consciousness.
