Since childhood I have enjoyed the comfort and blessing that a knowledge of Christian Science brings. When I was twelve, I joined a branch church. Last year marked my fiftieth year as a member of The Mother Church.
In whatever difficulty I have found myself, Christian Science has shown me the way out. Whenever illness has presented itself and my fears have been too great, some loving Christian Scientist has helped me to a clearer understanding of man's birthright and to a release from the bondage of sickness, fear, and sorrow. During twenty years of high school and college teaching, illness kept me from my post only five days in all. In the past sixty-four years I have relied only on God for healing.
One summer I had pneumonia. The truth demonstrated in Christian Science brought me through. Since I was slow in regaining my strength, a friend recommended that I read our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, straight through, starting with the first page and reading through the last. I began with the Preface, and when I had reached the final page a short time later, my health and strength were normal.
