"What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?" (Ps.116:12.) In answer, I can only say, "I will express my gratitude for the wonderful blessings that have come from the study of Christian Science, made available to us by Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder."
I began the study of Christian Science just prior to World War II, and I shall never cease to be grateful for the benefits which have come through my study of the Bible in connection with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I could tell of many instances when I have proved the efficacy of Christian Science in everyday life. Each proof has been a steppingstone to better health and morals.
Very soon after beginning the study of Science and Health, I was taken home from work suffering from an abscessed ear. I went to bed and slept, except during the intervals of acute pain. While I prayed to know the right thing to do, these words suddenly came to me (Science and Health, p.14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter, —and the body will then utter no complaints."
