In Christ Jesus' parable of the prodigal son, as recorded in the fifteenth chapter of Luke, it is made clear that the foolish wanderer, once he was truly repentant, found his father ready to receive him, not only with kind words of welcome, but with food and clothing.
It is further brought out that the elder son who, we must infer, remained at home industriously working in the fields complained about the generous treatment accorded his erring brother. But he was tenderly reminded by his father, "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." Is that not what our Father-Mother God is always saying to each one of us, "All that I have is thine," thine to reflect and enjoy?
One of the greatest blessings conferred by even a small understanding of Christian Science is the realization that the protection and provision of our heavenly Father are available to every one of His children, without discrimination or prejudice. We need only be ready to be guided and instructed by divine Love.
