On several occasions the Apostle Paul pointed out to the early Christian church the danger of splitting up into divisions or factions. He once wrote (I Cor. 12:24, 25), "God hath tempered the body together . . . that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another."
Christian Scientists, in working and praying for their church, would do well to consider the wise counsel of the apostle. Indeed, the study and application of this counsel can help a Christian Scientist not only in his church work but also in his own daily experience and in his unselfish prayers for mankind in general.
The active expression of God, divine Love, will strengthen and unify the membership of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. If the members of a branch church "have the same care one for another," if they maintain a tender, compassionate regard for their fellow members, and, above all, if they maintain in consciousness the true identity of each member as the blessed child of God, they will bring about a healing, harmonious atmosphere which will unify and draw the members of the church together.
