PREPARING FOR A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE LECTURE

From the October 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God." This compassionate utterance found in Isaiah (40:1) is being universally fulfilled today through the inspired teachings of Christian Science. Divine Science, which is the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus, reveals the present spiritual perfection of God and man and is demonstrating this great truth by healing human ills.

One of the means for promulgating the healing gospel of the Christ, Truth, is the work of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship, which was established in 1898 by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and Leader of the Christian Science movement.

A Christian Science lecture brings spiritual comfort, peace, and healing to many in a world which is daily becoming more confused by the vagaries and illusions of the material senses. This lecture may indeed be described as "the voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God" (Isa. 40:3).
