On that glorious resurrection morn when Christ Jesus had proved the power of Life over death, Mary Magdalene came with others to the tomb and found the stone rolled away. As they looked for the body of Jesus and found it not, two men in shining garments said to them (Luke 24:5), "Why seek ye the living among the dead?"
In another gospel it is reported that Mary stood without the sepulcher, weeping. And she stooped down and looked into the empty tomb. How like weeping humanity today were the actions of these followers of the Master! They were looking for the crucified body of their Saviour, seeking "the living among the dead," although their Master had taught them that life is not in materiality.
Even while Mary stood and wept needlessly, Jesus was right at hand to comfort her and to prove to her how mistaken she was to cling to the false belief of the testimony of the material senses—that he was dead.
