In "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," Mrs. Eddy says (p. 174), "To-day my soul can only sing and soar." Surely my thought also sings and soars, for I have had many proofs of God's loving care, guidance, and supply.
I was reared in a home in which the teachings of Christian Science were applied. Although we lived quite a distance from a town where there was a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I had the privilege of occasionally attending the Sunday School. However, it was not until some time after I was married that I realized I had to work out my own salvation.
Many discords in our home and with our children were corrected through the application of Christian Science. Among the discordant conditions that were healed were deafness, the effect of a so-called children's disease, crossed eyes, a large birthmark on the forehead, and recurring pneumonia and tonsillitis.
