My family became interested in Christian Science about twenty-six years ago when my mother was healed of a heart condition and other complications which a number of specialists had said would prove fatal. Soon after this, I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School, in which I began to learn how to make the teachings of Christ Jesus practical in my own experience.
The first healing which came about through my own understanding of this Science convinced me beyond a doubt that Truth is indeed the only healing power. One day I became quite ill and had to be taken home from school. As I lay in bed, I picked up my copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I opened it at random and read these words from page 339: "Since God is All, there is no room for His unlikeness. God, Spirit, alone created all, and called it good. Therefore evil, being contrary to good, is unreal, and cannot be the product of God."
As the truth of this statement dawned on my thought, the pain began to disappear, and within a few moments I was completely free. I fell asleep, and after a brief nap I arose and dressed; my heart was full of joy and gratitude to God.
