Poems

Windowpane

From the June 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Looking "through a glass, darkly"
Epitomizes error's claim
That worldliness and sensuality
Only constitute reality.

Looking through the lens of Spirit
Mobilizes true conceptions,
Shows our role as God's own child,
Reveals existence undefiled.

We can be transparency
Through which the rays of Truth diffuse,
Cognizant that Soul's reflection
Acts only at Love's direction.
