When I first found Christian Science, I was suffering from nervous indigestion. Through many years several doctors had attended me, and though I had received temporary relief, I was not healed. Finally, while I was having a very severe attack, my mother told me of a friend who had been healed of gangrene through Christian Science and asked me if I would like to try this healing religion.
When I had first seen the woman referred to by my mother, she was in a wheel chair. Later I had met her on a bus, and at that time she looked twenty years younger and had a radiant light in her eyes. I did not know until my mother told me in my distress that this friend had been healed by Christian Science.
The practitioner who had helped her was living across the street from us, and an appointment was made for me to see her. During that visit I forgot all about my troubles. All I knew was that I wanted to learn more of what the practitioner was telling me of God and of man. Before leaving I made another appointment to see her and then went home and threw away all my medicines. That was the end of the nervous indigestion, and in the ten years since then there has been no recurrence of it.
