Christian Science came to our family over twenty-six years ago. At that time my mother was healed of a stomach condition which had been pronounced incurable by three leading physicians in our city. She was told she could not live more than six months. Until her passing in 1964 she was an active Christian Science practitioner.
At the time this healing occurred, I was away from home attending college. On my return, I was very much aware of the great change that had taken place in our home. Calmness, poise, harmony, and a sense of dominion had replaced nervousness, irritability, and complaint. This healing was an inspiration to the whole family.
After our marriage, my husband and I decided that we should like to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist. This we did, but we did not become active students until an illness of our second baby forced us to decide whether we were going to rely on Christian Science treatment or place our trust in medical treatment. We shall always be grateful that we chose Science. Through our reading of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and the help given by a Christian Science practitioner, the child was immediately healed of a severe case of colic.
