All the good that I have ever experienced I owe to my understanding of God, gained through the study of Christian Science. I can never express the gratitude I feel for Mrs. Eddy and for the fact that she shared her wonderful discovery of Science with mankind. I was ten when my family found and embraced Christian Science. The hard times experienced before we found it contrast sharply with the peace and growth of the years since that wonderful day.
The healings I have witnessed in my immediate family include those of alcoholism, the smoking habit of many years' standing, gambling, a severe nervous breakdown, and plantar warts. And my mother was healed of migraine, from which she had suffered to such an extent that she had been told she would always be a semi-invalid.
It is almost impossible to express the gratitude I feel for class instruction. It has filled my life with a higher meaning and purpose as well as the power and strength to meet the challenges mortal mind seems to offer. I have been most inspired by the increased understanding I have gained of Soul as a synonym for God.
