Shortly before the First World War, I became interested in Christian Science. My dear husband passed on suddenly eight months after our marriage. I was an expectant mother and in very delicate health.
After about three years a friend presented Science to me. I told her that I did not understand why God should at times answer prayer and at other times not answer it and that I wished God had been an unchanging principle. To which my friend replied, "Do try Christian Science, for in this religion you will find that God is Principle." She also told me of a Church of Christ, Scientist, nearby. I gladly followed her advice. I became interested in Science and decided to bring up my child in this religion, in spite of a good deal of opposition from relatives.
Almost at once I began to improve in health. My little girl had a complete healing of bronchitis within twenty-four hours. Soon many healings followed, including those of lameness, heart trouble, throat infections, and serious injuries. Referring to the healing of lameness, from which I had suffered for many years, I should like to relate how the healing eventually came about.
