From the January 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sunday services in a Christian Science church conclude with the pronouncement of the benediction. The benediction is an integral part of the church service, and it should therefore receive due respect.

After the benediction some members of the congregation like to stand quietly in their places for a moment before leaving. Others prefer to leave promptly. Still others seat themselves and listen to the postlude. The choice in this matter is one for individual demonstration.
